Palauet Casades has been hosting Barcelona’s Bar Association (Il·lustre Col·legi d’Advocats de Barcelona or ICAB for short) since 1922.

The building was designed by architect Antoni Serra i Pujals and constructed in 1883.
Between 1950 and 1953 Agustí Borrell designed and oversaw the expansion of the building into its current state.

The library houses over 300,000 volumes covering all aspects of law and social sciences, and is considered one of the most important legal libraries in Europe.
